'git status' failed with code 128 on SourceTree

Lorenzo Arena October 4, 2017

error_encountered.png

Hello,

I get this error almost every time I change a file tracked by lfs. I tried to switch between embedded or system git but without results.

I am using:

  •  SourceTree v2.3.1.0
  •  Embedded Git v2.14.1 + git-lfs v2.0.2
  •  Disabled LibGit2 integration
  •  Windows 10

If I try to run

git lfs logs last

I get (*********************** only to hide real paths):

$ git-lfs.exe filter-process
Unable to move H:\***********************\.git\lfs\tmp\104500565 to H:\***********************\.git\lfs\objects\0e\1e\0e1ebb73a03194b335e13e247e67f623fe7f61a47545d054fdc2078df0d027d9

Hi Lorenzo, are you using a mapped drive? H: looks suspiciously like a mapped drive and Git doesn't play nicely with those. If you are would you be able to switch to a local drive and see if the error persists?

Let us know!

Best regards,

Ana

Hi Ana - I am having the same issue as Lorenzo and my repos are on a secondary drive on my computer.  Due to size issues, this is how we need to have our workstations configured.  Do you have any suggestions for changing permissions or anything else so that SourceTree will play nicely across drives?

Thanks

shannon
