The only way to do it right now is to use a Custom Action (only available on Mac right now). Why do you need this alternate strategy?
Thanks, I tried that out and it works for me although I have to rely on conventional names for the remote branch. I need this command because I want to test if the subtree strategy is working out for including an assets repo into the code repo for out projects. This way designers can handle all assets in their own repository without having the chance to accidentally corrupt the code in any way. I know I could also use a submodule for that but subtrees seem to be not so complicated and need less commands to work in both directions.
