fatal: unable to find remote helper for 'https'

fpollio November 3, 2015

I made a new repository in bitbucket, and then pressed the "clone in sourcetree" button, and when sourcetree opens up, it rejects the path / URL.

It says this is not a valid source path / url, and when I click on details, an error message appears saying fatal: Unable to find remote helper for 'https'.

I have tried deleting and creating new repositories and uninstalling and installing sourcetree several times, but none of these worked..

Are you using Embedded Git or System Git? This is in the Options dialog - Git tab.
