failed to access git server because of cert error

Cyril Guh August 21, 2017

I am an issue in accessing git. I have error like below :

unable to access 'https://username@git-reporitory/xxxxxxxx.git/': SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate in certificate chain

I know I can fix this by setting GitDisableSSLChecks as true in SourceTree.exe.config.

But is there an more politically correct way for solve the issue ?

Thanks.

Hi Cyril, We have documented a similar issue at Resolving SSL self signed certificate errors, have you tried that solution already?

If you're still having problems, please provide further information so we can continue helping you:

  1. What operation are you performing when are you getting this error?
  2. Which version of SourceTree and OS are you using?
  3. Do you also get the error when using the command line?
  4. Where is the repository hosted?

Best regards,

Ana
