With GIT LFS activated, I cannot "Open Selected Version" from the "Log Selected" history view

Chris Bobbett July 28, 2017

On our team of designers, we commit our Sketch design files to github.

Because these files can get large, I activated GIT LFS for our repo.

Now that LFS is active, I can no longer do this...

Right-click on file and select Log Selected > Window opens to show file history > Right-click on previous commit and select Open Selected Version.

I believe "Open Selected Version" is trying to open the pointer reference in Sketch rather than the actual Sketch file the pointer is pointing to.

1. Has anyone encountered this?

2. If so, have you found a way to resolve this?

Hi Chris! This looks like a bug and I've seen you've already reported it at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-4901 To help our developers troubleshoot this issue, can you add some more info to the bug report:

  • Which version of SourceTree and OS are you using?
  • If you try to open a file that is not in LFS, does it fail too, or it gets open successfully?

Thanks!

Ana
