Why is the new sourcetree so slow?

kstenerud December 8, 2016

Ever since upgrading from 2.1 on the mac, sourcetree has been hellishly slow. Moving things to and from the staging area causes it to completely freeze up for up to 30 seconds at a time, which basically makes it unusable. I've now gone back to 2.1 from an old installer I found, and it works great. It's as if you've gone from O(nlog2) algorithms to O(n^2) and didn't bother testing with medium to large data sets.

Hi Karl,

I don't work for Atlassian (this is a community help forum, so you may or may not get a direct response from Atlassian here).

But (if you didn't already) you could have a look at the following issues which might be related:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-3843

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-4172

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-4082

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-3942

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-4083

If you want to contact Atlassian direct you could comment/vote on one of these, raise your own bug or contact technical support here: https://support.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/1
