Why are we being asked to update to 2.1.8, which appears to be a beta release?

We have had users get an update notification to 2.1.7 last week and 2.1.8 this week, both which seem to be beta builds and have caused showstopper issues.

Why are we getting update notifications for beta builds, and how do we turn it off?

Note when I went to the website I was given 2.1.2.5 which has been fine.

Our Windows users were also prompted to update to 2.1.8, which appears to have major bugs. No http option available (if this is by design, I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere), fails when attempting to use system git, weird UI behavior.. Is this a beta release being pushed in error?

Yep, same issue here. The beta build doesn't work and I had to download directly from the website to resinstate a working build.
