I am interested in removing SourceTree from my computer. When I set up SourceTree, I selected the "Download an embedded version of git for SourceTree alone to use" option.
What will happen to my local repositories if I remove SourceTree?
Nothing will happen to your repositories. However, unless you install a different Git client, you may not be able to perform any operations on them, since uninstalling SourceTree may also uninstall the embedded version of Git.
After SourceTree has been uninstalled, you can copy your repositories to other machines with Git (make sure to include the hidden .git folder) and pick up where you left off, or you can install a different Git client and take whatever steps are necessary to make it aware of your existing repositories.
