Hello,

I am unable to to access or clone repositories. Whenever I try to clone a repositories I encounter this message. I am not too sure what this entails but before I updated source I remember getting failed authentication messages.

Please let me know if you guys can help figure this out.sourcetreeError.png

Thank you,

Hi Victor, make sure that in SourceTree options, you select "Use embedded Git" and not "Use system Git" and then update embedded Git using the provided button. Then restart SourceTree and it should work.

If it doesn't, I'd recommend doing a clean install following the steps:

  1. Wipe Sourcetree preferences
  2. Uninstall Sourcetree (if it shows on the App&Features list).
  3. Backup then delete the directory below before proceeding with next step:
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local and delete Sourcetree & Sourcetree-Settings folder
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Atlassian and delete all Sourcetree Files/ folder.
  1. Download SourceTree (if needed) and install it.

Let us know if this worked for you!

Cheers,

Ana
