Sourcetreee asks for user name and password for project I am not working on

brasingtontellus February 12, 2017

I have several different things in Bitbucket under different accounts.  SourceTree is constantly popping up and asking me for Bitbucket user name and password for an account I am not working on right now.

Everything is working fine, but out of the blue it pops up a login dialog.  I just cancel it, but then a few minutes later it pops up again.

It is excruciatingly annoying.

  1. Open that repository in SourceTree.
  2. Go to Repository > Repository settings...
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Uncheck "Refresh remote status in the background".

From now on, you will have to click the Fetch button to see what has changed in your remote(s).
