Sourcetree stopped working [Windows 10]

After new patches, sourcetree gives me this error whenever I made something related with repo usage. I'm using Github and BeanstalkApp.

After I tinker with sourcetree error logs, I found this. I hope this will help about finding solution.

I just wanted to say that I had this problem, too. I even installed an older version of Sourcetree (1.6.23.0), and it still happened.

I managed to figure out that if I disabled the option to spell check commits (Tools > Options > General Tab), Sourcetree works just fine. If that box is checked, it just crashes.

If you can't get Sourcetree to open in order to uncheck that box, you can open the user.config file found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree.exe<random_string>\<version_number>\user.config with a code editor and change the value of SpellCheckCommits to False.

I hope this helps someone else. It's been working for me so far.

Spot on. Uninstalled 4.6.1 and that solved the issue. The known issue they list doesn't match our circumstances, so I'll check if there's a report on Connect about it. Thanks for tip

The same error occurs in our .NET WPF application on Windows 8.1/Windows 10 and .NET 4.6.1 using non-administrator accounts. Seems to be related to changes MS made with .NET 4.6.1 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3088234). We have no solution jet...

Hi. Did anything else happen on this one? I'm having the same error in a different application and this is the only result I've found so far that mentions it.
