Can someone please tell me why is sourcetree showing me more changes than I made to my file? I saw a response to an earlier question way back in 2015. I can't really believe this is the problem. The questions I have ...are these real changes that will be written to my repo in bitbucket? and since I can't find any recent comments does that mean I should not be using sourcetree? I have the latest verison of sourcetree for windows.

We need more details to diagnose the problem…
1. What type of repository (Git or Mercurial)?
2. What do you mean by "more changes"?
3. What does (Git or Mercurial) show when you use their CLI?
I am using git. I will make a change in one line yet I am see where a lot of lines are deleted and re-added. If I don't use sourcetree and only the git cli I am fine. Once I use sourcetree the git cli also show these changes. The behavior is similar to that reported in this link: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Sourcetree-questions/Sourcetree-showing-entire-file-diffs-instead-of-just-the-changed/qaq-p/6648
