Sourcetree becomes "no response" when viewing large commit

Marson Mao January 29, 2015

When I click a large commit (say with over 1K files), sourcetree takes maybe 5 or 10 minutes, or forever to be able to display it.

I am using the latest version (Windows 1.6.12), and there's no such problem with older version (Windows 1.5.2).

Is this know issue?

Can I do anything to improve my display speed (like tweaking some option, deleting temp files)?

Hi Marson

Please see the SourceTree issue https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREEWIN-2572

The problem is down to performance issues in the Tree View option of SourceTree. Essentially it does not deal well with large complex file lists and unfortunately it's effects are felt even if you do not select the tree view option.

You could try the latest beta http://downloads.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/windows/SourceTreeBetaSetup_1.6.13002.exe.

This does not fix the problems with the Tree View itself but does decouple it form the other view and stops it interfering when not selected.

Cheers

Mike

I'll try this beta version and yes I was just using Flat list (multi column)

Ok, the beta version works perfectly. Do you know when it would be released? Thanks.
