Sourcetree authentication failed

Joseph Spencer October 19, 2017

I am receiving a fatal error when trying to use sourcetree. It has been functioning fine for months without a problem however, i can no longer push to my bitbucket repository

The error output i receive is as followed:

git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false push -v --tags origin master:master
remote: Empty password
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://JoeMSubs@bitbucket.org/sgmsubs/plc-motor-controller.git/'
Pushing to https://JoeMSubs@bitbucket.org/sgmsubs/plc-motor-controller.git
Completed with errors, see above.

I have tried re authenticating my account using OAuth and basic and i have had no such luck.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe, is this only happening in Sourcetree or also in the command line? Can you try and let us know?

If this is happening only in Sourcetree you can try removing your credentials and adding your account again, and if that doesn't work, wipe your Sourcetree preferences.

Let us know if you can push now!

Regards,

Ana
