Sourcetree: Can't login with Google account

Dominic Godin February 17, 2016

Looks like this was a bad release.  My issue is I can't log in at all.

I've updated the software and it now requires a login. I use Google+ account however this doesn't work with the software. When I try to login the software opens an IE window with "This page can’t be displayed" in it. Chrome opens a new tab with the url "https://id.atlassian.com/login/google?application=sourcetree" with the text "Invalid CSRF token found in form body".

That was yesterday, today I don't even get to the login screen.  I get a model window saying Mercurial not found.  Even worse some of the options have the text truncated so you can read them and there's no cancel button so I have to force close it via the task manager.

You really want your source control software to be rock solid.  This is far far from that.  Back to TortoiseHg for me.

I had this.

My solution

  • make IE the default browser
  • login to a google using IE
  • open sourcetree
  • select google as the authentication

That worked - then I had to set the browser back to my chrome

I noted this yesterday here - https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/36182929
