Sourcetree Absolutely Will not connect to Git or even Open Terminal

Jack JackD March 3, 2018

For no disernable reason, Sourcetree will no longer connect to git. I cannot use embedded git, manually connect git or automatically locate git. All three options simply close the alert window then bring it back up. Furthermore, when trying to open a previously created project, nothing happens.

I'm getting this window everytime. None of the three options work. Even clicking "Browse to the location of Git on your system" just closes the window and immediately opens it back up. I've reinstalled sourcetree and git multiple times now and nothing is changing. Everything was fine about a week ago though.

Hi Jack! What do you mean by "Sourcetree will no longer connect to git"? What about system git, have you tried it? If you're getting any error please take a screenshot and post it.

We'll also need more information about your environment such as:

- OS version

- Sourcetree version

- git version

Let us know!
