Sourcetree 4.0.1 not showing changes on Catalina

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
Sourcetree doesn't notice changes for certain locations on the filesystem. A simple test in screenshots where you can see the ST won't show the updates until I restart it. Git happily shows the diff.
I'm suspicious this is something related to Catalina's readonly filesystem. My working dir is `/data/development/ios/adia-ios` where /data is symlinked as per `synthetic.conf`
