SourceTree: sorting files by modification date

vasselai April 10, 2017

When we are looking at the list of files to add to a commit, is there a way to display them sorted by modification date?

I don't why such an obvious thing would not be possible, but I can't find a way to do so. While that would not make much of a difference for the case where one if filtering to show only modified files, that would be quite helpful for when I create new files in my project and/or decide to add files to start being monitored that weren't previously.

If that is not possible, is there a way fo put a feature request?

Hi Fabricio, at the moment it's not possible to sort files by date. The current sorting options are:

  • Path alphabetically
  • Path alphabetically (reversed)
  • File name alphabetically
  • File name alphabetically (reversed)
  • File status

There's already an existing feature request to allow sorting by date, you can find it at SRCTREEWIN-6551. You can vote for it to increase its popularity, write a comment and add yourself as a watcher.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Ana
