SourceTree slow

d kelly December 1, 2014

Looked at https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/301265 but there were no further comments after the recommendation to follow the tips suggested here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/SOURCETREEKB/Troubleshooting+Performance+Problems+in+SourceTree.

SourceTree used to be lightning fast until one day it was not. I have been living with it for a month or so now but being aware of how long a commit takes has got me in the habit of avoiding them if possible.

Here are my answers to the troubleshooting guide:

  1. Git
  2. 8GB, Quad 3.5GHz, 60GB available on SSD
  3. Local
  4. 5
  5. Normally 2 or 3 (did seem to speed up a little on closing them)
  6. 1.6.10.0
  7. Windows 8.1
  8. By 'untracked' you mean gitignore? If so then many..
  9. Pending
  10. Yes
  11. Last log output was 1 month ago so not included

Another issue that's been about longer and probably not related is this error message when i commit a new fileerror.pngClosing and reopening SourceTree allows me to commit and it doesn't bother me much but worth pointing out.

Same problem here, just over the last few weeks.
