SourceTree fails to clone Git repository through SSH on Windows

Christoph Schulze September 16, 2013

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to clone a Git repository from our Stash installation onto my Windows computer. I access the repository through SSH on a non-standard port and another username; my repository URL thus looks something like this:

ssh://user@our.stash.server:3579/project/repository.git

My SSH key appears correctly in Pageant, and in fact, in the Clone Repository dialog, SourceTree confirms the repository to be a Git repository. I thus assume that SourceTree successfully establishes a connection to it.

However, once I try to actually go ahead and clone the repository, SourceTree calls Git but nothing happens.

Does anyone have any idea where the problem might be? If this is of interest, I'm using SourceTree's integrated Git installation.

It doesn't seem to support the :port notation. The colon is just where the repository path starts. I wish I knew how to specify the port.

Yeah, that might have been the problem. Seems to be fixed now.

Whatever exactly the problem was, it works for me with the most recent release.
