SourceTree & Stash remote projects

David Lee July 10, 2013

I can't get a listing of projects from SourceTree and there isn't any error messages/log to help find out why.

Hosting Service: Stash

URL: https://FQDN/stash (removing /stash will take you to a different site)

Username: login (the admins set this up for LDAP usage if that matters)

Set Password appropriately

Select Projects

No error. No Projects. No repositires.

I've tried many different variations of the URL as well with out any luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi David,

This could be for a whole number of reasons. I've just tested my test Stash instance on the current release of SourceTree (I'm assuming you're using the Mac version here) without any problems. If the URL is your root URL then that's the correct one, it'll use the API from there to pick up the projects.

If the username/password were wrong then you'd get prompts to enter the correct ones. Some questions:

  1. If you attempt to enter an incorrect username/password then do you get these prompts?
  2. What version of Stash are you using?
  3. If you enter the same URL into your browser do you get redirected to your projects list?

We have many other users who use Stash with SourceTree so I'm thinking it's some configuration we haven't accounted for perhaps.

Cheers
