SourceTree 2.3.1 Windows will not launch or reinstall

mraath October 3, 2017

Since yesterday sourcetree will not open.

I had a look in the event viewer in windows and see something like this each time I try to run it.

.NET Runtime version 4.0.30319.0 - The profiler has requested that the CLR instance not load the profiler into this process.  Profiler CLSID: '{de70e25c-02b5-4556-a837-8aa6fe502668}'.  Process ID (decimal): 13724.  Message ID: [0x2516].

Since then I have tried to uninstall it, but it will not re-install now. The other version on my PC still gives me the above message.

I have the same problem, after a windows update...

2017-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4040724)

Which contains an update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6

Thanks. Yes - I still haven't fixed the above, but uninstalled, removed some directories, then re-installed an older version Ver 2.0.20.1 This works for me (however I would prefer the latest one to work :) )
