Hi.
I've tried running the installer (exe) over 10 times.
Each time, the installer's initial splash screen appears momentarily, only disappear.
Usually, it disappears without any follow-up.
On two occasions, the following error dialogue appeared.
Here is a pastebin of the setup log.
I began to experience issues with SourceTree after the major version number switch to 2.0 some months ago. I've tried re-installing on numerous occasions since then, never with any luck.
Any advice is much appreciated - SourceTree is my #1 choice of Git client!
Thanks,
Oliver
Hi Oliver! That looks like a Squirrel installer error rather than a SourceTree error itself. For other users with this issue, uninstalling and re-installing .Net solved the problem. Can you try that and let us know if it worked for you?
Cheers,
Ana
Any chance you could tell me which .NET version?
As .NET is (apparently) a core component of the OS I'm using, I'm hesitant to uninstall all of them.
I see the following:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 Multi-Targeting Pack
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 SDK
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 Multi-Targeting Pack
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 Multi-Targeting Pack (ENU)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 Multi-Targeting Pack
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 Multi-Targeting Pack (ENU)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 SDK
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 Multi-Targeting Pack
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 Multi-Targeting Pack (ENU)
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 SDK
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 Multi-Targeting Pack
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 Multi-Targeting Pack (ENU)

Hey again,
I am still cannot install SourceTree. I'm having trouble finding more resources on how to re-install SQuirreL, since all of my searches get confused with discussions on using SQuirreL's features.
As I mentioned above, re-installing every version of the .NET framework on my machine is simply not possible.
Any further guidance would be most appreciated!

What I also fail to understand is why I can see SourceTree as having been installed. The app clearly exists, I just can't run it.

I have exactly the same problem. Source tree just stopped working for no apparent reason. uninstalled it, downloaded latest version, installer splash just pops up and nothing else yet it installs it in the background but this fails to work.
Has anyone got an answer to fix this please ?

For anyone reading this, I've done the complete .NET reinstall and it hasn't furthered my situation in any discernible way.
@chris_shay have you had any luck?
Best,
Oliver
