Source tree adds ._.png files

joostfontein October 29, 2013

I added .png files to my working directory. For each filename.png sourcetree shows an additional ._filename.png file. I can also stage them...

What/why is that?

Hi Joost,

This isn't something we're aware of. Is this for the Windows version? If you can stage them then this means they're in the file system. Does it happen every single time you add a file to your working directory?

Cheers

Hi Kieran,

Mac version.

Yes, every time I add a .png file to working directory.

In Finder I don't see them (but have "view hidden files and folders" turned on).

Workaround: .gitignore => ._* However, a bit strange though...

The best way would be to use "ls -a" on the directory in question within the terminal rather than relying on the Finder
