Source Tree: different encodings

Roman S September 9, 2014

Hello!

Is it possible to add to Source Tree possibility to choose text encodings separately for commit messages and filenames?

On Windows file names always use system encoding and different git/mercurial tools tend to use utf-8 for commit messages. I'm currently in a situation when file names are encoded with windows-1251 encdoing and commit messages are using utf8. So, when I change default text encoding in Source Tree if I choose utf8 then filenames got borked and if I choose windows-1251 the commit messages got borked.
