Pruning Source Tree

Michael Cunningham May 10, 2015

I'd like to move the origin back to commit b13aa2c and then start branching from there.  Instead after some test committs with new developers I (the project manager) ended up with this .  Any guidance or point me to documentation for windows would be very much appreciated.

You don't need to have a particular commit checked out before you can branch from it. SourceTree will give you the option to check it out as part of creating the branch.

You should probably leave origin/master (the server's master) as it is.

To create the branch as you want it:

  1. Stash your uncommitted changes
  2. Right-click on the b13aa2c commit, select "Branch..." to create a branch from this point.
  3. Apply your stash to get your uncommitted changes back into your workspace.
