My sourcetree installer is hanging on the log in screen

Amanda Zaslowsky November 8, 2017

I am trying to reinstall sourcetree and when I get to the stage 'Login to your atlassian account' after I enter my credentials the screen just hangs indefinitely.

I know my credentials are correct because I can log in to MyAltassian account on Chrome and also on Internet Explorer. I have already updated my IE and I can login from IE as well.

How can I get past this step and successfully install sourcetree??

Hi Amanda, do you get a blank screen? Or is there a spinner loading forever?

Which Sourcetree and OS version are you using?

Cheers!

Ana, I'm having the same issue.

Sourcetree installer: SourceTreeSetup-2.4.7.0

Windows 10 Home

I'm behind a firewall and strict internet communications rules imposed by IT.

Is it possible for me to get an off-line installer?

Regards,

Gary

Hi @gary-s-anson, can you upgrade Internet Explorer to the latest version? Sourcetree relies on it for authentication and we've seen that previous version causes issues.

Regarding the offline installer, we don't have one yet. The team announced that they're working on creating an MSI for Sourcetree for Windows, but we don't have an ETA for this yet.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Cheers,

Ana
