Migrating SourceTree Windows install

GEORGE L October 28, 2014

I currently have SourceTree installed on my Windows 7 PC. But have questions for the properly process to migrate SourceTree and all the repository data from one PC to another as well tips for managing multiple PC usage ?

So questions are

  1. What's the official way of moving a SourceTree Windows 7 installation + all repository data to a new Windows 7 or 8/8.1 computer ?
  2. Any steps or tips for how to have SourceTree and all repository data available across multiple Windows 7 or 8/8.1 computers ? For example, if I want o use SourceTree and repositories on my Desktop Windows 7 and my Laptop Windows 8 simultaneously ?

cheers

George

As far as backing up, the best way to do that is to push your changes to a server.

Like on Stash or BitBucket and later you can checkout the code on your machine.
