Is it possible to place a .gitconfig File inside SourceTree embedded git

Deleted user April 1, 2015

If the Home Environment Variable inside Windows is mapped to a Network Driver, SourceTree has unknown as user, when committing without Network connection.

Is it possible to place the .gitconfig File inside the SourceTree Folder, using the embedded git?

If you use system git and you have an explicitly set HOME environment variable pointing to the location of the .gitconfig, it will work correctly in SourceTree and all other Git clients. (If the HOME variable is not explicitly defined, SourceTree guesses it in a different way from other software.)

If you try to solve this problem inside the embedded Git of SourceTree, your solution will only work in SourceTree. (Not sure how to do this, but I guess if you fill in the user/e-mail in the Options screen in SourceTree, it should apply to the embedded Git and be stored in the appropriate location.)
