I keep on getting 429 errors when pulling or pushing

daniel October 10, 2017

Hi.

Often when i'm trying to pull from remote, I get the following error:

git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false -c credential.helper=sourcetree fetch origin

remote: Too many failed authentication attempts. Please try again later.

fatal: unable to access 'https://user@bitbucket.org/team/repo.git/': The requested URL returned error: 429

Completed with errors, see above

If I keep trying, it eventually works. What is error 429, and if this is some limit we have reached, what kind of limit is this?

thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

There has been a bug reported for this behavior in Cloud that you can find at SRCTREE-4678. Please vote on the issue and add your comments to the ticket.  Once you do that you'll be updated when the ticket is updated.

There are some attempts to work around the issue in the existing comments that you can try, however, in the meantime please vote on the issue to add impact so we can get this fixed!

Cheers,

Branden
