How to clone an svn repo in Sourcetree

David Kerwick May 15, 2012

Hi,

When I try to clone a subversion repo at for example

svn://<myserver>/<mycode>

It gives an error

This is not a valid source path / URL

and the details section says

fatal: Unable to find remote helper for 'svn'

Do I need to download something?

Thanks

David

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

Yep svn info works and git svn clone also works from the command line.

So I checked out the project with git svn and added it to sourcetree.

This for some reason has sorted sourcetree out I can now clone directly.

Not sure why that fixed it, but sure don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I can't commit, but that's due to Auth failure because of a windows domain I think, but that's a different problem

Thanks for your help

I don't have any Subversion servers running via svnserv (svn://) rather than https:// or ssh:// - does 'svn info <your URL>' work on the command line?
