How to add a repository that is not hosted with github

Deleted user July 13, 2017

Hi Guys,

Was hoping you could please help. I would like to add another repository onto my sourcetree desktop. I've been provided with the URL - ssh://git@XXX.XXX.com.au:XXXX/XXXXXX.git (example) but how can I add this?

I've managed to add my local repository from my local computer but this particular one isn't hosted with GitHub.

I've tried reading some articles but I'm not that techy and getting a bit confused.

Thank you!
Tay

Hi Tay! Where is the repository hosted? Is it public, or do you have permissions to access it? If you don't have the correct access rights you'll get an error and won't be able to clone it.

Have you tried already following the steps in the section "Cloning a repository with SourceTree" at Clone a repository? You can also find other ways to clone the repo at Clone a repository into SourceTree.

If you're still having difficulties, let us know where are you stuck and whether you're using SourceTree for Windows or Mac and we'll continue helping you.

Best regards :)

Hi Ana!
It's a private repository that I have been given access to.

I have read those articles but still having issues. Using SourceTree for windows.

Are you able to send me some screen dumps of where the ssh://git@XXX.XXX.com.au:XXXX/XXXXXX.git should be entered?

Thanks for your help
Tay
