How do I change the github user in SourceTree?

Phil Oxenberg September 1, 2015

We have a private GitHub repo with several branches and we have several users.  I must have specified the "root" user when I first installed SourceTree, but I prefer to use a different user when interacting with GitHub, one that only has access to specific GitHub branches.  How do I accomplish that?

Hope this helps -https://goo.gl/9x4YdU

Note- the post above is for bitbucket, it applies to git as well.

Thank you, but I'd already tried that but at no time was I ever asked for the the password associated with the user account.

if you want to work with multiple user accounts, you can create gitconfig and add different remotes. check this http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/quick-tip-how-to-work-with-github-and-multiple-accounts--net-22574
