How I can solve : CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED (_ssl.c:590) ?

Meinhard Sattler September 8, 2015

Hey,

I can't clone my Repos, that I can reach by Browser.

So the Login Data is correct.

I always get the error message

abort: error: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:590)

So maybe someone of you know how I can solve this problem.

Hi Meinhard,

Is your source repo using self signed certificate? if yes then you might check the resolutions mentioned in below link

Hi Mr Meinhard,

You should add your hostfingerprints to your local hgrc file.

I had the Key ID entered as a SHA-256 key, and it still did not work. When I added the key as an SHA-1 fingerprint, the application started working as expected.
