Gitlab integration?

Matias Eyzaguirre April 10, 2012

There is an open source clone of github called gitlab, will sourcetree ever support it?

Specifically I mean that there is integration with githubs hosting, allowing one to view ones github repositories, clone them, add to them, and such. It would be nice if one could do this with private gitlab hosts, or even better if there was a public API that third party developers could use to write plugins to allow sourcetree to integrate nicely with their specific git and mercurial based project hosts.

We'd also like to see a GitLab integration similar to GitHub, Stash, Bitbucket.  They have a decent API. smile

We'd like this very much. We find Atlassian client projects to be a valuable part of our process, but as our number of active repositories grows (we are an agency), we need a solution that connects our entire GitLab set of repositories in the same way Bitbucket and Github is connected.

Regarding the business angle, we do not find that Atlassian clients' lack of support of Gitlab pressures us to switch to Atlassian server solutions.

Matias and others - our add-on Git Integration for JIRA (Server and Cloud) natively supports GitLab.com and hosted GitLab (CE/EE).

It's apparently a coming feature in version 1.8.1 as mentioned here. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/SRCTREE-1037

I would also like to see this. We have a GitLab instance and have to manually find and clone repos, integration would be great.

SourceTree is a version control client for Mercurial and Git. Gitlab implements git, so I wouldn't see a reason why it doesn't support it. Have you tried using it?

Indeed, you can clone from any Git URL with SourceTree regardless of the service. SourceTree just provides extra API support for the major hosting services like Bitbucket and GitHub to give you easier access to the clone URLs etc of your projects, but that doesn't mean you can't clone from any other service.

Yes, havng a way to plug in other APIs that we don't support yet would be very useful, it's something I've considered but haven't had time to address yet.

Hi Steve - since gitlab has continued to gain popularity over last 2 years, do you think you guys will put it on the roadmap?
