Encoding problems with files containing ç character

Alan B August 13, 2014

Hi - I am trying to commit and push a file into BitBucket via SourceTree; the file contains a ç character and using Notepad++ on the source file it looks ok, but when I look at the file in SourceTree before committing it - this ç character has been turned into a "?". When looking at it on the BitBucket (I guess after I'd pushed it) it shows as a square box character

What do I need to do to retain the correct encoding?

Thanks

I don't think SourceTree should change the file's encoding, but may not be correctly reading the encoding when displaying portions of the file in the UI. I would try to commit it anyway, then pull the file from another computer to confirm whether the encoding is correct.
