Does Source Tree Support Repack or Garbage Collect commands with GIT

mlevison October 16, 2012

Source tree is proving adept at helping manage my business files. As it happens many of these are binaries (thanks MS Word, IPages, etc) and as result my repository is growing by leaps and bounds.

Is there anyway to use SourceTree to force a repack and garbage collect every so often? I don't mind running the command manually since it will be pretty rare.

Cheers

There's no in-built function for this because git does it itself periodically.

If you did want to do it manually, you could define a Custom Action which runs these commands if you wanted (see Preferences > Custom Actions)

Coolness I seem to remember ancient history when GIT didn't do this automatically. Perfect.
