Can't update to version of Sourcetree from Version 1.9

I have successfully upgraded to SourceTree 2.3.1.0 on my local development laptop that is running windows 10 however when I tried to do the same update on my production server that is running Windows Server 2012 R2 I'm having an issue that I can't get around.

On my prod server I get to the second step which is "License Agreement" and when I click on "Use an existing account" I get a popup that is blank. The first time that I ran this I got an error message that said something about adding "id.atlassian.com" to my Trusted Sites in IE. I did that and then come back to re-run the install and it gives me the blank screen.

I've also changed my default web browser to be Firefox in the hopes that it would do something different with the popup but nothing.

Please help.

Hi Jim, this issue with the blank screen was reported in our bug tracker at SRCTREEWIN-7244. Our developers are rolling a fix, but if you haven't been prompted for the upgrade yet you can use the following workaround:

From a working install collect the accounts.json and passwd files.

Delete the Atlassian folder from the AppData/Local directory for your user. Run the installer for 2.3.1, close it when you get the blank login window. Place the account.json and passwd files into the Atlassian/SourceTree folder. Rerun the installer. It should detect the account and password from those files and bypass the request for a login.

Note that in order to be in compliance with the Atlassian EULA you must ensure the email address used in the file is valid, yours and associated with a valid Atlassian account.

For the future keep in mind that if you do a search within the Atlassian Community first you might be able to find the solution to your problem much faster, as it might have already been asked for another user :)

Let us know if you need any further assistance!

Cheers,

Ana
