Accessing a GitLab server

For our student projects, we use a GitLab server. Is it possible to add this as a remote repository in SourceTree?

Yes - for sure. You don't need to configure this in Sourcetree, since the Remote Repository configuration is part of the git repository itself. Sourcetree simply uses this configuration to talk to the server - no matter which server.

Depending of the capabilities of the server you might miss some features (I'm not quite sure about this) - but generally it should work well.

Yes, I have managed to setup the repositories so they will access the remote GitLab repository and it does seem to work. However, the Repository Browser has a Remote tag and I can get it to list my GitHub repositories but I don't seem to be able to add the GitLab as a remote repository. I was hoping that there might be a way to do this. I am sure that I am not the only person working with remote repository servers.

The nature of my work means there are repositories that I need to monitor but not necessarily have a local clone of that repository. The remote repository list seems like a nice way to track these.
