Let's use this thread to introduce ourselves.

If you can highlight where you work, your role and what Atlassian tools you use, this will be a good way for folks to get to know one another.

Feel free to add anything else like your favorite color, food or what you like to do for fun.

Hi there.

My name is Mark Livingstone and I am your San Diego Atlassian User Group (AUG) Leader.

I've been running this group for over seven years and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of working with other San Diego Atlassian users as well as the 3rd party partners and Atlassian.

My day job is working at Qualcomm where I am responsible for our End User Services which consists of our Global Service Desk, Field Services, Walk up Centers and Printing Services.

I've been a user of the Atlassian tools for almost a decade and managed the SDLC tools here at Qualcomm for many years.

In my spare time, you can often find me volunteering down at the San Diego Zoo as an interpretive volunteer and also helping run fundraising events.

Hello Evan Golden here.  Principal Consultant at Adaptavist, and a happy member of our Atlassian User Group here in San Diego!

I love living here.  Been here since 2002.

10 year old daughter.  We are active in taekwondo, and have fun with that.

See you all at the meetings.

Happy First Day of Summer to all AUG's!

I am Erica Garcia and excited to be a part of the San Diego Atlassian User Group - still a relatively new member as the IT Analytics Manager at Welk Resorts Group where I am responsible for tracking key performance indicators of IT consisting of metrics that matter to move the needle on organizational effectiveness and efficiency in all levels of the business.

I love that @Mark Livingstone is a volunteer at the Zoo - funny connection, I built that program during my years with the San Diego Zoo.

I spend the majority of my spare time working alongside volunteers (with huge hearts) of Its The Pits Rescue Group, to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home dogs less fortunate than others due to breed stereotypes. Currently I have 1 foster dog in my home and 4 others that are mine; 2 of which were originally fosters themselves (this is considered a 'foster-failure'  but is a failure of the best kind!)

Currently we are planning for our annual fundraiser, Ruff Ruff Royale, a casino night to benefit Its the Pits Rescue - live music, casino tables, food and drink all included. #shamelessplug

That definitely sounds like the absolute best kind of failure, @Erica_Garcia! And I'm glad to see another Erica here. 😎

@Erica Moss YAS #unite! :)

Dominique Cardin June 21, 2018

Hello, I'm Dominique Cardin and I am on the DevOps team at Northrop Grumman in Rancho Bernardo. The programs here use many of the tools in the Atlassian suite, and we try to spread awareness of the Atlassian benefits to other programs as well! We currently use Crowd, Confluence, JIRA, Fisheye/Crucible and Bitbucket.

I've only been to a couple of the AUG events, but both have been fun networking opportunities! Hoping to attend more and learn from my colleagues!

Hi @Dominique Cardin and happy to have you here! That's great to hear about you attending the SD AUG and seeing the value of connecting with others there. @Mark Livingstone (San Diego)does a great job of bringing the community together :)

Benjamin Zaczek June 21, 2018

Hey Everyone, I'm Ben Zaczek.

I come when I can to the AUG meetings but have been traveling the last few meetings so i'm stoked to have this platform to work with and discuss with all of you!!

I am a software engineer and in my org we are heavy JIRA / Portfolio users in my software group and have dabbled with crucible and fisheye.

I enjoy woodworking in my spare time and have accidentally become a hobby network engineer after deciding to do a self install of a few diy security systems.

Hi there.

My name is Jesus Oros, and I used to be a member of the San Diego AUG back when I worked for Qualcomm as a contractor.

Currently I´m an active member of the Mexico City AUG, yet I like to be involved with the AUG that introduced me to the Atlassian lifestyle.

My day job is as an Atlassian Consultant for a small consultancy office here in Mexico where we handle licensing, installation and support for all the Atlassian products.

In my spare time I´m studying for my certifications, completing my Software Development engineering diploma, and raising my 5 year old daugther, that I can assure you, is a handful.

Welcome @Benjamin Zaczek! We are happy to have you here :)

Chelsey Rogers July 31, 2018

Hi, I'm Chelsey Rogers. I'm a Product Manager at Cognella. We're an academic publishing company that focuses primarily on college textbooks. We use Jira and the Structure plugin to run our agile workflow. Are there any other Structure users out there? I'd love to trade tips and tricks and hear how you think it compares to Portfolio.

On the weekends, you'll find me out training for a triathlon or swimming at La Jolla Cove.

Tanya Botta October 1, 2018

Hi everyone, I'm Tanya Botta.  I'm an Atlassian Administrator remote from my home in North San Diego.  I've worked with the Atlassian suite (Crowd, Confluence, Jira, Jira Service Desk, Bitbucket, Bamboo) for over 10 years now and received both my Jira Administrator certification and Jira Service Desk Administrator certifications earlier this year.

I have found that there is always something new and exciting to research with this tool set, whether it is new features, new plugins, new acquisitions/integrations, etc.  I'm really excited to see how the Slack integration is going to work.

In my free time I do tinker with my Atlassian servers.  I'm also brushing up on Python.  I try to get to the meetings when I can, but sometimes hard from north county.

Hi Tanya and welcome!

Would love to see you at our next meeting next week, but note it is in downtown this time.  Hope you can still make it.

Great you are brushing up on Python.  Always a good scripting skill to have!

Hello All!

My name is Dima Lazarchuk. I'm the co-founder @ Help Desk Migration. We help companies migrate their data from many different help desk systems to Jira Service Desk. Internally we are using Jira Software (Cloud) to track our tasks. We tried many different task-tracking tool, but JIra is the most suitable.

Would be happy to meet new people here!

Hi everyone! I had a great time at my first AUG last night. So lovely meeting everyone and getting to know some of you better.

I'm an Instructional Multimedia Designer at Adaptavist, Inc., working on online training materials for Atlassian and Adaptavist products. We use Atlassian products extensively throughout our workflow, which is awesome.

When I'm not busy making things look pretty for Adaptavist, I volunteer with local tech groups such as Django Girls and the University Heights community website team. I also enjoy Dungeons & Dragons and I'm currently looking for a gaming group :D And, when it warms up, I hope to get back in the water. I love to scuba!

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at future events! In the meantime, let's connect on LinkedIn :) https://www.linkedin.com/in/adventuresoftoni/

Cliff Perea August 14, 2019

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to join the group and interact with others in here.

I am a Software Program Manager/Scrum Master with Truvian Sciences. The company is looking to transition to Jira and looking to me to support the setup and possibly be the administrator. I have only used Jira for the past 10 months, so I haven't had much administrative time with the tool.

I would love to see, if there is someone who is willing to spend some time giving me pointers on the setup of the tool and go over establishing the tool for workflows and other initial items.

Thanks,

Cliff

jesusoros August 14, 2019

Hey Cliff,

Welcome to the community, there are a lot of information available about how to administer Jira.

If you really need somebody to talk to you, let me know and we can work out our schedules.

Cheers!

Hi all!

Happy to join the group here! I am a new Sr. BA/PM for WD40 here in San Diego. The company is currently using Jira/Confluence and is adopting it widely. Looking forward to joining this community to learn more about the tool and how we can best optimize it for our industry.

In my free time I keep busy with family activities, kids soccer, and slow pitch softball. Have been in so-cal for about 13 years now and love it!
