why change file status view in 1.9.0?

I am Mac user and I love sourcetree ( I still think it is the best git GUI tool), but I realy hate new "File status view" layout in 1.9.0. First, files are no organized files into tree hierarchy which makes review and select files very hard when there are a lot of files. Second, there is no "Files staged in the index" windows where I can know my files status and recheck my files before commit. Is there any way that I can bring old layout back in 1.9.0? Otherwise I will stay on 1.8.1 and uncheck autoupdate.

Thanks

Bowie
