What does your log say (especially in the "loading plugins" area)?

I'm a new, which log would you like me to look at confluence311013121333-stderr.2013-12-13.log

Go to admin -> system information, that will tell you what the main Confluence application log is - you may need to read more than one log though!

(atlassian-confluence.log) can't see anything in here of relevance. if I reinstall the plugin will it delete the existing zen data
