Version control in confluence without having to purchase sharepoint

Just beginning to evaluate confluence and would like to know if there is version/revision control and document library management within Confluence or a plugin rather than having to use Sharepoint?

I am going to evaluate it for this purpose. I am also looking into putting many documents on a page similar to a sharepoint portal.
