Unable to sign into the crowd console

Dustin Essington August 25, 2012

Crowd isn't allowing me to sign into the console. Authentication with the openID server, stash, JIRA, etc works fine. I've tried resetting the SSO token and it didn't solve the issue.

Hi Dustin,

In order to get a better idea of the issue in hand, you might want to review your atlassian-crowd.log located at <crowd_HOME_Dir>/logs/atlassian-crowd.log.

If you are able to access other application, most likely the cause of the issue is due to insufficient permission to access your Crowd console. You wil need to be the member of crowd-administrators (default) group and the directory where your user reside in need to be added into "Crowd" application in Crowd console.

If both condition is already met, the cause of the issue is due to invalid IP address. Crowd will only allow access from registered IP address into its application including Crowd console which is configured as "Crowd"application. You might want to review this KB is this is the cause of the issue:

Hope it helps.
