Timer stops on resolving issue

When the issue is set on resolved, the timer stops. I understand this could be handy, but on the other hand, you are still working on the issues writing the solution and this time should be included.

What Timer are you talking about. Is it about jira worklog, Service Desk SLA, others?

There is too many possibilities out there to anyone be able to answer anything :)
