Issue with template dupliating, Xporter for JIRA

Brooke Anglin June 1, 2017

Currently we use the description field for our timeline. We are looking to replace this field with one that will timestamp each individual line.

Ex of timeline today:

ex of timeline today:
Issue XYZ
We did this research
We contacted dave
Bob joined the call

What we are looking for is when the user hits enter it automatically timestamp that entry/ line

5/19 13:40 Issue XYZ
5/19 13:50 We contacted Dave
5/19 14:00 Bob joined the call

Which application is it, and what do you mean by "timeline"?  I want to ask if it's the Activity stream?

Brooke Anglin June 2, 2017

The application is JIRA. So today we use the description field for our timeline when we are working issues. We document the entire call until we restore service. The activity stream does timestamp changes to the ticket but what I need is a field that timestamps each line/ event. So today in the description field we add the date and time manually for each event of the call.

Ex of timeline today w/o manually adding date and time:

Bob is checking monitoring tools for any additional alerts

Mary said this could be related to config changes made today

The config changes were backed out

Service was restored

I need a field that each time the user hits enter it will timestamp those events
