SVN - importing large 4GB dump

SynSupport August 20, 2012

Hello,

I am looking at importing our SVN into Atlassian's one.

The dump file I created is 6GB. Using bzip2, I compressed it to 4GB.

I installed WebDrive to connect to webdav, and have tried to upload the 4GB file. This seems to continually fail.

I am wondering, if I create a SPLIT gzip archive, i.e.

dump.gz.001

dump.gz.002

etc..

and upload the individual files as a full set, will the importer understand this gzip format?

If this is not possible, what other options do we have to import a 6GB SVN dump?

Regards

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

We have a 15 minutes timeout set on OnDemand HTTP servers and an upload limit of 2GB per file. Even if you split your SVN dump, you cannot have access to your instance shell to "un-split" them. I recommend that you upload your splited dump files on webdav server and raise a support ticket asking us to merge these files for you.
