Resolved Date Showing for Open Issues

Roxanna Maynard April 18, 2012
Some of the issues in the JIRA project I am currently working on are displaying a resolved date and time, under the heading Dates in the right hand panel. When I look through the History of the issue there is nothing to suggest the issues has been resolved.
The issues that are affect show correctly in the Greenhopper Planning and Task Boards or in the search result they appears correctly, however where the issues are linked to another one (e.g. either as a Sub-Task or a dependency link) the ID of the issue has a line through it suggesting it has been closed or resolved.
This seems to affect both User Story and Sub-Task issue types.
Any ideas what might be causing this and how it could be resolved?

Broken workflows cause this, for instance there is an action going from a state where the resolution should be set, to one where it should not, without clearing the resolution. My plugin highlights these problems in the workflow diagram: https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/JVIZ/JIRA+Workflow+Visualization+Plugin

Also CSV imports can cause this.

The script runner has a built-in script which can bulk change the resolution on issues, after you fix the workflow, if that was the cause: https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/wiki/display/GRV/Built-In+Scripts#Built-InScripts-BulkFixResolutions

Thanks for that. I did import them via a CSV. I will try your recommendations at the end of the day when people are out of the system and let you know my results. Thanks again.
