Remove repository from project

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Delete a repository

How do I remove a repository from a Project. I don't want to delete it, just move it outside of the project

The only available place 'outside of the project' is within another project, i.e. every repository must be inside a project since the recent introduction of projects as a team organization feature.

Accordingly, you need to create another suitable project (say 'Unspecified project') and move your existing repository by adding it to the new project.
