Migrating JIRA and Confluence

Richard Annand February 9, 2014

Hello,

Currently we are using JIRA & confluence on demand. We are now looking to migrate this to a hosted copy. Everything is going well so far. My problem is that after importing the data (JIRA first then confluence) confluence shows its users as from the confluence directory and jira shows them fro the jira directory. How can I merge the two lists of users together? They are identical and when creating the application link in confluence I tick they box mentioning identical users.

Kind regards,

Richard

Hi Richard,

You're looking for this: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Connecting+to+Crowd+or+JIRA+for+User+Management

On Confluence Admin->User Directories, you create a new user directory of type: JIRA, then point Confluence to your JIRA, and it will start retrieving users from there.

Please let us know of your developments.

Kind Regards,

Felipe Alencastro
